Fastsoft / Guide
Practical guide
Validate JSON and switch between readable indentation and compact output. This is handy when inspecting an API response, configuration file or log fragment.
How to use it
- Paste a complete JSON value into the editor.
- Choose Format for two-space indentation, or Minify to remove unnecessary whitespace.
- Read the validation message and copy the output.
Example
Enter {"name":"Fastsoft","ok":true} and format it to see the fields on separate indented lines.
What to know
Input must be standard JSON. Comments, trailing commas, unquoted keys and JavaScript expressions are unsupported. Parsing and serializing can change whitespace, number representation and duplicate keys.
Common question
Why does a JavaScript object literal fail?
JSON is stricter than JavaScript object syntax. Quote every key and remove comments and trailing commas.
